This Philips D4S XenEco 5000K bulb has a whiter appearance then a new standard Philips D4S XenEco bulb (Part # 42402) and is a closer match to older factory Philips bulbs that have colorshifted up from their original 4300K color. These are often used to try to "color match" the other bulb in a car that has one burned out headlight bulb. It is a closer match to an older bulb then a new standard version bulb, which is less white in color. We still recommend changing both bulbs at the same time, as new bulbs are much brighter and color as well as brightness will match when changing in pairs. This will also eliminate the need to replace the other bulb when it goes out in a few weeks or months. However if cost is a major issue this bulb can be used to closer match the remaining bulb that still works in your vehicle.

Factory Original Equipment on many new vehicles Philips D4S bulbs have perfect aim and brightenss and the quality you can only get from Philips.

When replacing HID bulbs it is highly recommended that you replace both bulbs. As HID bulbs age they slowly colorshift (change color usually to a more bluish white) and lose brightness. Replacing both bulbs will ensure that they match in color and in brightness. You should keep the old still working bulb as a spare incase you need it in the future.
